Visual Art, Storytelling + Photography by Sierra Jeter
an afro-indigenous multidisciplinary visual artist, creative director, storyteller, diviner and photographer living in Denver, Colorado, USA.
My journey as a visual artist continues to evolve, driven by a deep passion for visual storytelling and utilizing photography as an avenue for healing, activism and connection.
My passion for photography goes beyond just capturing images, it's about using my lens to tell powerful stories, help my community heal, spark important conversations, and amplify voices that are often underrepresented. As an Afro-Indigenous artist, I feel a deep responsibility to honor my ancestors and uplift the narratives of marginalized communities through my work. Every project I take on, whether it’s live music photography, editorial shoots, or collaborations, is rooted in this mission to challenge the status quo and create space for more radical storytelling.
I am also driven by my commitment to growth, not just as a photographer, but as a leader in my community and to advocate for artists who create outside of the box. I am passionate about creating opportunities for others and fostering a supportive network where creatives can thrive. Through projects like Afrofuturism, I've demonstrated my commitment to using my work to share meaningful stories, while fostering collaboration with other value-aligned creatives.
